Our Services
Spark Literacy aims to change the way struggling readers get help by making tutoring more affordable and effective, and including the family as important decision-makers. Parents and caregivers learn about reading acquisition and about their child's strengths and needs. Carefully chosen tutors connect with students to teach frequent and effective lessons based on evidence-based practices. Progress is evaluated regularly and shared with families monthly so individual reading plans can be adjusted to fit the child's changing needs. Spark Literacy offers flexible support so children and families can find support that fits their needs.
Comprehensive Tutoring Services for Reading & Writing
Services begin with an initial assessment by an expert reading specialist and the development of an instructional plan. A Spark Tutor is matched with your child to teach 2-4 40-minute sessions a week using an evidence-based program. Regular meetings with the reading specialist, tutor, and family ensure that progress is being made & the plan be adapted as needed.
Caregivers as Tutors
If parents or caregivers want to learn strategies and programs to support their own child, we can help. There are many highly effective programs that parents can learn and use successfully. Training, materials, and review of outcomes will be provided.
